Mumbai: In the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, the News Broadcasters Association (NBSA) has ordered the news channel, Aaj Tak to apologise for displaying fake news at 8 pm on Tuesday (October 27, 2020), and also asked to deposit a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Aaj Tak had shown fake content by telling Sushant Singh Rajput's last tweets. The decision was taken by NBSA while taking action on the complaint made by Nilesh Navlkha on June 20, 2020.
Till date, the channel has been ordered to broadcast the apology through text. NBSA also asked the broadcaster to air an apology admitting on national television that it did not conduct the due diligence required prior to telecasting the tweets. It will also have to pay a fine of Rs. 1 lakh.
At the same time, 'India TV', 'Zee News' and 'News 24' have also been asked to apologise for violating the principles of journalism while reporting in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput's death. On behalf of Nilesh, the lawyer was represented by Rajesh Inamdar and eternal Bliss. While Zee News and India TV will apologize on October 27, 'News 24' will apologize on October 29.
