Monsoon Session:' 'I am a traitor, put me in jail' say AAP leader Sanjay Singh

New Delhi: A notice has been issued against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh under the sedition section. The issue of summons by Hazratganj police station in Lucknow was lashed out in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. Sanjay Singh targeted the Yogi government over it. He asked the House if the sitting member here was a traitor. If we are a traitor, we should be picked up and put in jail.

During the debate on the Central Council of Homoeopathy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the Indian Medical Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2020 in the upper house, Sanjay Singh has attacked the Centre and the Yogi government fiercely. Sanjay Singh said, "I may be in jail four days later. The Yogi Government has imposed a sedition case against me. If we are a traitor, let us be picked up and put in jail? Sanjay Singh said that sitting in the supreme house of this country is a traitor, I should be given dal in jail.

The Chairman took cognizance of the matter and said that we will conduct an inquiry into it. In this context, Sanjay Singh has written a letter to the Chairman, which has been signed by leaders of all major opposition parties. 30 MPs have signed in their support.
