New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to be satisfied with its performance in the Gujarat elections. Now they are preparing to contest elections in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana on the same lines. Assembly elections are scheduled in these two states in 2023 and 2024. An AAP leader has said that the party will field its candidates in 10 states where assembly elections are to be held in 2023. He also said that AAP has decided to run an election campaign just like In Gujarat in these two states (Haryana and Madhya Pradesh).
Let us inform you that, this decision has been taken after AAP's National General Secretary (Organization) Sandeep Pathak's recent meeting with the heads of these states. According to media reports, a senior AAP functionary has told on the condition of anonymity that, 'before contesting the election, the party will have to look at the strength of its cadre, internal survey, and economic condition. It is not possible for a party which is trying to build an organization to contest all the elections.'
Let us inform you that this year, assembly elections are proposed in Meghalaya, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, Telangana, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and J&K. AAP has so far done well in states where there was a BJP-Congress face-to-face fight. Delhi, Punjab and Gujarat are examples of this. In 2023, AAP can get the same opportunity in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.
