New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday (February 18, 2022) arrested Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) councilor Geeta Rawat while accepting bribe red-handed. Geeta Rawat is an AAP councilor from West Vinod Nagar area of ​​East Delhi Municipal Corporation. She is considered very close to Delhi's Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. The interesting thing is that the bribe money went to Geeta Rawat through a person named Sanaullah, a peanut vendor.
Geeta Rawat is accused of bribery of 20 thousand. The complaint of this bribery reached the CBI. It was said in the complaint that 20 thousand rupees were demanded from the victim in exchange for getting the roof built. He handed over that money to the middleman Sanaullah. After this the CBI laid a trap to catch Geeta red handed. CBI officers painted the notes and gave them to the peanut seller Sanaullah and started monitoring them. When Sanaullah went to give the bribe amount to Geeta Rawat, the CBI caught him red handed. After this Geeta Rawat was searched.
During the search, notes of the same color were found from them. After this both were arrested by the CBI. At the same time, when Sanaullah's father came to know, he also reached there. Going there, he came to know about this act of his son. At present, the CBI has taken both of them to its office for questioning.
