New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh's sudden arrival at the Samajwadi Party(SP) office in Lucknow today has created a stir in Uttar Pradesh politics. He has met former Uttar Pradesh, CM Akhilesh Yadav. Since the news, speculations have started in the political corridors as speculations are rife whether you and the SP may join hands for the upcoming assembly elections.

Sanjay Singh admitted to meeting Akhilesh and said he wished the SP chief on his birthday and discussed the current political situation in the state. The meeting between the two leaders took place at the SP headquarters in Lucknow. With just a few months left for the assembly elections in the state, the political implications of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state in-charges meeting with Akhilesh are being worked out. However, Sanjay Singh refused to say anything when asked about it.

On the question of whether the SP and AAP could form an alliance in the upcoming assembly elections, Singh said, "We cannot say anything in this regard right now. In Uttar Pradesh, assembly elections are scheduled to be held early next year. You are trying to make your mark in the political arena of the state and are cornering the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in the state on various issues.''
