New Delhi: There is a political ruckus in Delhi over the allegations of a liquor scam against the Arvind Kejriwal government. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has also launched a counter-attack against Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinay Saxena, who ordered a CBI inquiry into the liquor policy. AAP has sought his resignation, alleging corruption against LG Saxena.
AAP's Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh, while addressing a press conference, has alleged that LG Vinay Saxena, while head of Khadi Village Industries, got his daughter Shivangi Saxena a contract worth Rs 80 crore to design a Khadi lounge in Mumbai. Not only this but the name of Shivangi Saxena is also inscribed on the rock board of that lounge. Sanjay Singh said that the Khadi Village Industries Act says that no member of the family can be given a contract while holding the post of chairman. The then KVIC chairman Vinai Saxena had given the contract for the design of Khadi Lounge to his daughter Shivangi Saxena, misusing the Khadi Act.
The AAP MP alleged that LG Saxena has violated the Khadi Village Industries Act. During this, Sanjay Singh also attacked PM Modi. He said that I want to ask the Prime Minister why he is keeping a tainted LG in Delhi. Sanjay Singh said that AAP will discuss this matter with its lawyers and will follow the path of law. You have to remove the tainted LG, he has to resign.
