Aaqib Javed, the former Pakistan fast bowler, has declined the BCB's offer for the post of Bangladesh's bowling coach. Javed joined Lahore Qalandars, the Pakistan Super League franchise, as the director of their cricket operations, and wants to focus on the same without too many distractions.

Javed's response came a day after BCB president Nazmul Hassan said the board was in talks with the ex-UAE coach.

BCB’s cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan, said, “Aaqib has informed us that he is not going to come. We are not too worried about it. He was not our only option. We also have plans B, C, etc. We will now hold talks with the others”.

“The truth is that the job becomes difficult for both sides if we name (a favourite). You will know as soon as we finalise something,” he added.

After declining the offer by him, the Bangladesh board is now seeking other candidates.
