The Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) Batsman AB de Villiers is in great form and performing very well in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 , But the swashbuckling batter had announced his international retirement in May 2018 but has continued to feature in different T20 tournaments across the world. With the 2019 World Cup a month away, de Villiers has given his take on who he thinks can go on to win the showpiece event.

De Villiers said that it’s very difficult to pick a clear favourite as he thinks a lot of teams are capable enough to go all the way in the mega event. The former South African skipper mentioned England, Pakistan, India, Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa and went on to say any team among these can go on to lift the coveted trophy.

In an interaction with Sportstar. “It is very difficult to pick a favourite; I think there are a lot of teams capable and that makes it a very open tournament. India have won the Champions Trophy in England, Pakistan won the last one there, Australia have won a lot of World Cups, England are their own team, New Zealand always do well at World Cups, South Africa have a very good bowling attack — that’s six teams already that I feel can win! I am simply looking forward to watching some amazing games through the tournament,”
