Patna: Mohammad Abdullah of Samastipur in Bihar has returned to Umesh Rai. After 15 years, he has 'returned home' to Hinduism. Umesh Rai, who came in contact with a man and became a Muslim, later realized that the Muslim community did not consider him his own. He then decided to return to Hinduism. Abdullah was reportedly having a fight with Mohammad Riaz from the village itself. He was hurt by the conviction of himself (Abdullah) instead of the accused in the panchayat called for it and the verdict against him.

Due to this, they have decided to convert back to Hinduism. The case pertains to Bhairav Khara village under Tajpur police station area of Samastipur. The homecoming programme was organised by the Hindu Putra Sangathan at Kali Temple in the village on Saturday (December 25, 2021).  First, Mohammed Abdullah got the shaved head done. He was then bathed and returned home wearing pag and janeu as per Hindu customs. According to reports, the man from Mohammed Abdullah to Umesh was assaulted by Mohammad Riaz, who lives in his neighbourhood, and also tried to kill him.

The panchayat was called by people belonging to the Muslim community in the village. The panchayat convicted Mohammed Abdullah (now Umesh), who converted inplace of the accused, and ruled against him. Hurt by the panchayat's decision, he decided to change religion. He converted to Hinduism again after 15 years and became Umesh from Abdullah.
