Indian shooter Abhinav Bindra is celebrating his birthday today. Abhinav Bindra was born on 28 September 1982 in Dehradun. His father's name is Arpit Bindra. He is a businessman. His mother's name is Babbi Bindra. He received his early education at the Wlite Dawn School in Dehradun, but later went to St. Stephen's School in Chandigarh, Punjab. In 2000, he completed his high school education. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

Abhinav Bindra is a popular Indian shooter who put India on the global shooting map by winning gold in the 10-meter air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. He is the first Indian to achieve individual Olympic gold. Born into a Punjabi Sikh family, Bindra showed interest in shooting from an early age and to encourage his interest, an indoor shooting range was set up by his parents at his home in Patiala, Punjab.

Abhinav represented India at the age of 15 at the 1998 Commonwealth Games and was the youngest participant in the sport. He attracted the attention of all by drawing a junior world record score of 597/600, a bronze medal in the 2001 Munich World Cup. After that he never looked back and his career graph went up.

Apart from winning the Olympic gold medal, he has won several medals at the Commonwealth Games in the last few years and has also won the World Shooting Championship. Bindra's main contribution is that he inspired many budding shooters.
