India's Olympic champion shooter Abhinav Bindra has said that the Indian shooters have the ability to win gold, including several medals in the Olympics to be held in Tokyo. Bindra is the only Indian to win a gold medal in the Olympic shooting event, but he hopes that after the upcoming Olympics, new players will join him in this club.

Abhinav Bindra, 37, said, "We are going to the Olympic Games where we will have a chance to win many medals. There will be a real chance to win a gold medal in the Olympics." For the Indian shooters, the year 2019 has been very successful where the Indian players topped all World Cup finals, including the World Cup in rifle-pistol. India has achieved a record 15 quota for the Olympics. In the Rio Olympics (2016), the shooting team had to return empty-handed after which some changes were made on the direction of the committee headed by Bindra. Keeping in mind the incredible performance of Indian shooters in recent year, he hoped that India will do well in this competition. He said, "Indian players are expected to return with a good number of medals. I hope for a better performance."
