The famous Bengali filmmaker Raj Chakraborty remains in the headlines due to his films or personal life. Today we are going to tell you about one anecdote related to his previous release 'Proloy'. The young filmmaker set fire on the box office with his political thriller 'Proloy' in the year 2013. This film was completely based on an anti-rape campaigner, Barun Biswas. 

Barun Biswas was a teacher by profession, lives in the village Dukhiya. He is an honest and fearless person who is always ready to fight for a cause. This movie is filmed with a strong social message and the characters are well-liked by the audience. Parambrata Chatterjee played the lead role of Barun Biswas in this film but do you know, he was not the first choice of Raj Chakraborty for this role. Raj first chooses Abir Chatterjee to play this role but due to some personal problems, he couldn't work in this film. 

Inspired by the true story of Barun Biswas, The film ‘Proloy’ is inspired by the true story of Barun Biswas by RajChakraborty as a tribute to the braveheart. Apart from Parambrata, this film also stars Paran Bandopadhyay, Padmanabha Dasgupta, Mimi Chakraborty, Pooja Banerjee, Saswata Chatterjee,  Koushik Roy etc.
