A major mishap at Kedar Ghat in Varanasi was averted on Sunday evening due to the alertness of the sailors. In fact, amidst the waves of the Ganga here, a small boat collided with the Bajre (big boat) coming from Dashashwamedh ghat side and overturned in the middle Ganga. After this sudden incident, there was a scream among the people. On seeing this, the alertness of some sailors present in the nearby Kedar Ghat saved the lives of all 6 youths in the boat. Yes, they were all taken out of the water. On the other hand, the local police reached the spot about an hour after the incident. However, people also expressed their displeasure over the late arrival of the police.

During this time, after the arrival of the police, all the youths were taken to the trauma centre for medical examination. It is being told that six youths on board the boat had come from Delhi to visit Kashi. On Sunday evening, everyone had booked a small boat from Assi Ghat and reached Kedar Ghat from Assi Ghat when the Bajre (big boat) coming from Dashashwamedh Ghat side collided. After the collision, the boat overturned and all the 6 youths on board the boat started diving into the lap of Ganga. However, in the meantime, the sailors present nearby jumped without delay and managed to save all the youths. Talking about the entire matter, a local outpost in charge Virendra Kumar said that all the people in the boat have been pulled out. The entire matter is being investigated and negligence of the accident is being investigated.

Well, this isn't the first case. In December 2020 and December 2021, there were also two major boat accidents in the Ganga. In fact, in December 2020, four people drowned in the Ganga. Then in December 2021, 3 women lost their lives in a boat accident in the River Ganga near Varanasi and Mirzapur border.
