The DCP of New Delhi addressed a press conference regarding the sexual assault of a 6-yr-old girl in a govt school in Delhi's Gole Market. He asserted that she had identified the culprit and hence he was arrested. The victim was a student of class 2 and the accused was working in the school since last 1.5-2 months.

The DCP added that the accused is being interrogated and the Investigation is under process.

He also informed that no CCTV cameras were installed where the incident took place.

 

Previously, the parents of the students had protested outside the government school premises in the Gole market. The students belonged to the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).

As quoted by the ANI, one of the parents asserted that 'even women have to register their entry before going inside the school, how did a man enter just like that?’ The parent's concern is genuine. After all their ward’s safety has to be their prime concern.

To inform you, the student of the 2nd standard was raped by an electrician inside the school’s premises.

The accused has been identified. He is a 37 years old man, named Ram Asre. He had been working for the school for a month and had become a permanent electrician employed with the NDMC staff.
