Today is the birthday of veteran actor Farooq Sheikh, who made a mark with his performance in cinema, yes, FarooqUekh was born on this day i.e. march 25, 1948 in Amroli, Gujarat. On the birth anniversary of the actor, who won hearts with his simple performances in 'Chess Player', 'Umrao Jaan', 'Bazaar', 'Chashm-e-Baddoor', 'Club 60' and many of the best movies, let's know about him.  

Farooq's father Mustafa Shaikh was a reputed lawyer from Mumbai and his mother Farida Shaikh was a housewife. Farooq had completed his studies at St. Mary's School in Mumbai. His father had a profound influence on Farooq's life and that was the reason why he studied advocacy. He studied law from Siddharth College of Law in Mumbai, but soon after becoming a lawyer, he realised that this profession was not good for him. After which he has left advocacy and started giving up acting.

Along with his studies in college, he used to participate in all the plays and sports activities. Farooq was not only crazy about cricket since his school days but has also been a good cricketer. Not only this, Sunil Gavaskar was one of Farooq's good friends. Farooq worked a lot in theatre during his college days. Actress Shabana Azmi was studying with him in college. They also used to work together in plays. Their pair achieved a lot of fame through the play 'Tumhari Amrita'.

Meanwhile, in college, Farooq Sheikh met Roopa Jain, with whom he also tied the knot. Farooq and Roopa had decided to marry each other after being in courtship for nine years. Farooq Sheikh's name never came up in any controversy. Nor was his name associated with any co-star or heroine. He was a complete family man. He has two daughters. He worked with Deepti Naval in many superhit movies.

In 2013, Farooq appeared in the movie Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani in which he played the role of Ranbir Kapoor's father. The movie 'Youngistan' was Farooq Sheikh's last movie. Farooq also became famous for the TV show 'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai'. In this show, he interviewed many famous personalities. In December 2013, Farooq Sahab said goodbye to this world due to a heart attack.
