New Delhi: The anti-encroachment campaign of municipal corporations in the country's capital Delhi continued unabated on Friday. Encroachment is being removed by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) from Vishnu Garden on Khyala Road on Friday. At the same time, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) has started the work of removing illegal encroachments around Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park, Samaypur Badli Metro Station and Prem Nagar in Mangolpuri. Action is getting delayed due to non-availability of police force in Bawana. The bulldozers of the municipal corporations are removing the encroachments amidst heavy security at all the places.

According to the information, violent protests and stone pelting were witnessed in Madanpur Khadar area on Thursday against this action of the Municipal Corporation. According to police, locals tried to stop the bulldozers and pelted stones at security personnel in Madanpur Khadar area of ​​southeast Delhi, however, they were dispersed from the spot. Police officials said that Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan, who was involved in the demonstration in Madanpur Khadar, has been arrested on charges of rioting and obstructing the work of government employees.

The South Delhi Municipal Corporation on Thursday removed illegal and temporary constructions from Madanpur Khadar and Dhirsen Marg, while the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NMCD) took action in Rohini and Karol Bagh areas. During this, the local people claimed that even legitimate structures were being demolished.
