Yes, it has to pay a heavy price. Let us tell you that the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has imposed a fine of ten lakh rupees on 'Sensodyne' toothpaste for misleading advertisements. On the other hand, in a notice issued by CCPA, it has been said that Sensodyne company has shown misleading advertisements to the consumers.

Let us tell you that along with imposing a fine of Rs 10 lakh, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has asked Sensodyne to remove all its misleading advertisements within seven days from all mediums like TV, OTT, YouTube, social media etc. has instructed. In fact, in an official release issued on Tuesday, it has been asked to remove the advertisement of Sensodyne claiming 'recommended by dentists worldwide' and 'the world's number one sensitivity toothpaste' within seven days. Yes, and at the same time, the advertisements showing support by foreign dentists have been ordered to be stopped as per the order passed earlier by the CCPA.

You all would be aware that the CCPA headed by Nidhi Khare recently passed an order against misleading advertisements of Sensodyne products. The CCPA had initiated automatic action against advertisements of Sensodyne products on various platforms including television, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Along with this, Sensodyne claimed to eliminate sensitivity in 60 seconds and said that it has been confirmed by doctors. Let us tell you that the CCPA asked the Drug Controller General of India and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization to investigate. Yes and the organization has started the investigation with its Assistant Drug Controller based in Silvassa, who issued the cosmetic license to the company, which is still going on.
