Pune: The government has issued orders for action in the incident of fire in the Ola electric scooter in Pune last week. According to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), the Center for Fire Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) has been called to take action on the circumstances that led to the incident. Along with this, it has also been asked to suggest measures so that such incidents can be stopped.

In a letter to CFEES, the ministry has asked to share the outcome of the action. Along with this, suggestions have also been asked to share remedial measures for improvement so that such incidents can be prevented in future. On Saturday, Ola Electric said that it is taking action on the incident of fire in its electric scooter in Pune and that a proper investigation is also going to be done.

A video of the company's electric scooter catching fire has gone viral on social media. After this, users raised questions on the safety standard of the vehicle. Reportedly, reacting to the incident, Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO of Ola said, "Safety is the top priority. We are investigating it and will fix it." The Center for Fire Explosive and Environment Safety (CFEES) is part of the SAM (Systems Analysis and Modeling) cluster of the DRDO Lab.
