American artist and martial arts actor John Saxon has passed away. He was 83 years old. The actor's wife said in a statement that John died at the age of 83 due to complications from pneumonia. After his death, a wave of sorrow has spread in Hollywood.

In a career spanning 60 years, John has acted in over 200 movies. Saxon is known for his stellar performances in western and horror movies. He was always seen playing the role of a police officer and a detective in these movies. He starred opposite Bruce Lee in 'Enter the Dragon' and entertained people with tremendous performances in A Nightmare on Elm Street in 1984.

John Saxon was born in 1935 in Brooklyn, New York. His real name was Carmine Orrico. After graduating from high school, he studied acting from famous acting coach Stella Adler. Soon after, Universal Studios contracted him for a project and changed his name to John Saxon. John was also proficient in judo and karate. He appeared in movies like Rock, Pretty Baby (1956) and Portrait in Black (1961), Summer Love, This Happy Feeling. She received a Golden Globe nomination in The Best Supporting Artist category for The Appaloosa. He had organized 3 marriages.
