Tv actor Piyush Sahdev, famous for playing Samay in the recent hit show on the TV Beyhadh, was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 23-year old model. A case was registered against Piyush under IPC Section 376 at Mumbai's Versova Police Station. The actor is currently in the police remand. According to reports, Piyush's father and estranged wife Akangsha Rawat were unaware of his arrest. Piyush sister who is also actress Meher Vij didn't have any clue about it either.

Shocked with the news, Meher, who recently played the role of protagonist's mother in Secret Superstar, claimed that she hasn't been in touch with her brother ever since he got married. "I have got to know this from you. When did this happen? I don't know anything at all," Meher told the daily.

The actress, also known for playing protagonist's mother in Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan, further said, "You know I haven't been able to get in touch with my father too, so I do not know anything about this. Actually, Piyush and I haven't been in touch at all ever since he got married. His wife had some issues, so I chose to back off. Whatever contact we have had, has been only through our father since then."

Reportedly, Piyush, 35, was two-timing his rumored girlfriend from a show that he did in the past, with another TV actress. A souce has been in a report as saying, "Piyush recently went for a holiday with the actress where he got sexually involved with her. After coming back, he chose to end the relationship. Meanwhile, she had become a little serious about him. But with his negligent behaviour, she got irked. Piyush blackmailed her, threatening to leak obscene pictures of her over the internet. The actress paid no heed to him. This irked Piyush who actually leaked a few pictures."

Piyush, who has played important roles in shows such as Devon Ke Dev Mahadev, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Geet and Har Ghar Kuch Kehta Hai, is in police custody till November 27, 2017 and won't be given a bail till then
