Recently shocking news has come about the famous actor Shaam in the Tamil industry. The police arrested him for alleged gambling in his apartment in the upscale Nangambakam area of Chennai. Apart from him, there were 11 more people who have been arrested. While talking about this, the investigators said, "The tokens used for gambling have been recovered from the actor's flat. He has been indulging in illegal activity late in the night amid lockdown along with many other popular Tamil actors."

Apart from this, it has also been said that until now it has not been clear that any other actor has also been arrested. In a conversation with media, a senior police officer said, "The actor has been arrested in the evening along with 11 other people. We are investigating the use of tokens." Police considered it necessary to take action when a final year student embraced death after losing money in an online game.

Regarding the matter, a police officer said, "The youngster lost 20,000 rupees taken from his workplace in a game, which made him depressed and he killed himself." However, earlier, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court had talked about the need for legislation to regulate and control online gaming. During that time, the bench had said that online gaming addiction among the youth is causing a financial loss to the families.
