Lea Seydoux, who resumed her role as Dr. Madeleine Swann in the latest Bond film 'No Time To Die,' has dismissed the concept of a female figure leading the franchise. Seydoux, who also featured in 'Spectre' in 2015, said: "James Bond, James Bond, James Bond, James Bond, James Bond, James Bond, James I don't believe a woman should portray James Bond."
The 36-year-old actress recognizes the need of "strong" female role models for young girls. She does, however, believe that a female spy should head another film brand rather than the Bond series, according to media sources.
"It's essential for young girls to have a positive model of strong women," she told the reporters. "Perhaps they could make a female spy, but that would be a different film." In the upcoming film, Daniel Craig plays Bond for the final time, and she has stated that her successor should not be a woman. She believes, however, that women and people of colour should be given equal opportunities in high-profile roles.
