George Joseph, the father of Malayalam actress Miya George, died today, September 21. He was 75 years old. According to reports in the media, George Joseph's last rites would be held on Wednesday at St Michael's Church in Pravithanam. His wife Mini, daughters Gini and Miya, and both son-in-laws Lino George and Ashwin Philip survive him.

Miya was extremely close to her father and frequently posted photographs on Facebook expressing her eternal love for him. In September 2020, Miya George married businessman Ashwin Philip, and the pair recently welcomed their first child, Luca Joseph Philip.
