Pallavi Joshi told the pain of Kashmiri Pandits Says, ''We all decided to make a..

New Delhi: Pallavi Joshi, a Kashmir Files actor from the United States, told the world about what happened to Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. He added that as he started interviewing the victims for the film, he was told by one of them that his father had been sliced into 15 parts in Kashmir.

'We all planned to produce a film, and in the interim, Vivek (Agnihotri) arrived to the United States,' Pallavi said. When he returned, he said that we would be doing a film on Kashmir. I inquired as to what was going on in Kashmir. He said, "We're planning to make a film on Kashmiri Pandits." The stories of Kashmiri Pandits were then told by Vivek. We started looking into it. This provided us a better understanding of the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. "We met the relatives of the victims and those who were victims of this tragedy," Pallavi added.

'Dr. Surender Kaur invited us to visit the United States and meet Kashmiri Pandits,' Pallavi continued. For the project, we planned to interview a large number of Kashmiri Pandits. I recall my first job interview. My father had been sliced into 15 pieces and placed into a bag on the banks of the Jhelum river, according to a woman we met at a residence for an interview. "Every day, we did 4-5 interviews," Pallavi stated. It was a disaster. People had been through a lot. I informed Vivek that I would be unable to complete the task. But that was part of our study, so we went ahead and performed it.'

The actress said, "After doing all the research, we decided that we would do it. Not because it is our project, but because we can tell people what happened 30 years ago. We decided to show the world the reality of Kashmir. When we were making a film, we have mentioned that every scene is based on true events. We salute the spirit of the Kashmiri families that they told us. Earlier, while delivering a speech on Capitol Hill, Film Director Vivek Agnihotri had mirrored the USA saying that western countries have made Kashmir a venue for manorjan and reality shows.
