As many as 28 crore people have taken the holy dip at Mahakumbh till date. Devotees from all regions of India and sections of the society are rushing to Prayagraj to take the holy dip at the Sangam. Not only the common people, even celebrities are no behind. Bollywood celebrities are quickly arriving at the Mahakumbh to register their attendance at the Mahakumbh, seeking blessings from Maa Ganga.
Meanwhile, actress Poonam Pandey who is known for her boldness, outspoken nature and controversial stints also reached Kumbh city on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya. Before the journey, Poonam Pandey had already announced that she would be visiting Mahakumbh. She took a bath at the Sangam, followimg which she took a stroll around and even took a ride in the boat. Sharing her visit and the sacred dip at the Sangam, the actress took to Instagram and wrote, “All my sins have been washed away.”
Poonam Pandey also expressed grief about the stampede that took place early Wednesday at the Mahakumbh during the Amrit Snan on Mauni Amavasya. In her Instagram stories, the actress shared the significance of the Mahakumbh as well as her experience at the event. She shared that she had been able to see life closely, where faith knows no limits…meeting a 70-year old man who can walk barefoot for hours.
Further she said, “The accident that happened on the day of Mauni Amavasya is very sad. Deep condolences for those who have lost their lives, hope they get salvation. I have no words to describe the devotion here. The strength might reduce, but not the faith.”
During her visit, Poonam Pandey was seen wearing a black shirt with Mahakaal written on it, along with a black dupatta on her head. She also applied Tilak on her forehead. After taking the dip in the Ganga, the actress prayed with folded hands. In some other videos that she posted on her handle, she is seen sitting along with the people in the fair. During her boat ride at the Ganga-Yamuna Sangam, she even fed the birds around.
Poonam Pandey is not the only Bollywood celebrity who has visited MahaKumbh. Before her, popular celebrities including actor Anupam Kher, BJP MP Hema Malini, choreographer Remo D’Souza, actor Ravi Kishan, Singer Guru Randhawa, and Sapna Chaudhary have taken the holy dip at the Sangam.
