NEW DELHI: Adani Group has formed a new subsidiary to establish a data centre in Mumbai, the company said in a regulatory filing.
According to reports, it is one of a half-dozen cities that the company has identified as potential locations for data centres.
The regulatory filing related points read: "...we would like to inform you that on the 4th February, AdaniConnex Private Limited, the Company's joint venture with EdgeConnex Europe BV, incorporated a WOS (wholly owned subsidiary) namely, Mumbai Data Center Limited ('MDCL'")
The new arm will create, run, maintain, and deal with data centres, information technology, information technology enabled services (ITES), cloud, and related services, as well as perform infrastructure development operations such as land acquisition and development, according to the company.
" Mumbai Data Center Limited will begin business operations as soon as possible." The diversification comes as the Centre continues to push for data localization.
