In a significant move set to boost Bihar's economy, the Adani Group has announced plans to inject a whopping Rs. 8,700 crore across various sectors in the state. This ambitious initiative is anticipated to generate employment for approximately 10,000 individuals, encompassing both direct and indirect roles, as revealed by Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises.
Speaking at the Bihar Business Connect 2023, an event aimed at fostering ties between the Nitish Kumar-led government and business leaders to stimulate investments and job creation, Mr. Adani expressed the group's commitment to contribute to the state's growth.
"Bihar is emerging as an appealing investment hub, and noticeable transformations are underway, particularly in social reforms, law enforcement, literacy, and women's empowerment," remarked Mr. Adani during the event.
Highlighting the alignment between the Adani Group's vision and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's developmental aspirations for Bihar, Mr. Adani emphasized the conglomerate's prior investments of Rs. 850 crore in logistics and gas distribution sectors. Additionally, plans are underway to initiate cement manufacturing projects targeting a production capacity of 10 million metric tonnes, projected to generate roughly 3,000 employment prospects.
Moreover, the conglomerate intends to venture into the production of smart electricity meters. Mr. Adani disclosed plans to install 28 lakh meters across five cities as part of this endeavor.
Commending the Chief Minister's emphasis on fostering an 'Ease of Doing Business' environment, Mr. Adani extended gratitude for the support and encouragement received.
