New Delhi: Adani Group is going to buy a 29.18% stake in news channel NDTV (New Delhi Television) Media Group. Adani Group's media company AMG Media Networks Limited has announced to buy a 29.18 per cent stake in NDTV in an indirect manner. The acquisition will be done through Vishwapradhan Commercial Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of AMG Media Networks Limited. Let us tell you that AMG Media Networks Limited is owned by Adani Enterprises. 

According to media reports, Adani Group has also made an open offer to buy a further stake. According to media reports, this acquisition will be done through Vishwapradhan Commercial Private Limited (VCPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of AMNL (AMG Media Networks Limited). AMNL is also owned by the Adani Group.

According to a press release issued in this matter, VCPL had the right to buy a 99.5 per cent stake in RRPR Holding Private Limited. Under this authority, it has been decided to take this stake. Please inform that RRPR Holding Private Limited is a promoter group company. It had a 29.18 per cent stake in NDTV and is now going to buy it from Adani Group. 

In this regard, it has been told that VPCL is taking more than a 26 per cent stake, so as per SEBI rules, it will have to make an open offer. AMNL CEO Sanjay Puglia has said in this matter that this acquisition will prove to be a milestone in the path of a new era of media platforms.

Puglia further added that 'AMNL seeks to empower Indian citizens, consumers and those interested in India with information and knowledge. With its leadership position in news and its strong and diverse reach across genres and geographies, NDTV is the best-suited broadcast and digital platform to fulfil our vision. We look forward to strengthening NDTV's leadership in news distribution.

Let us tell you that NDTV is a leading media house which operates three national channels namely NDTV 24x7, NDTV India and NDTV Profit. In the last financial year, NDTV generated revenue of Rs 421 crore with EBITDA of Rs 123 crore, and a net profit of Rs 85 crore in FY22 with negligible debt.
