Adani lifts payout for NDTV offer to match payment to founders

Stock in News: Adani Enterprises on Tuesday announced its indirect subsidiary Vishvapradhan Commercial Private Limited (VCPL) will make an additional payment of Rs 48.65 per share for the shares bought under an open offer
Adani Enterprises said in a regulatory statement to stock exchanges that the extra payment would be made by February 28, 2023.

In the recently concluded open offer,  which began on August 23, 2022, VCPL purchased 53,30,792 shares, or 8.27% of the equity in NDTV, for a price of Rs 294 per share. On December 15, 2022, the tendering shareholders received paid in full for the accepted shares.

As recently as Friday, the Adani Group said it had acquired the bulk of NDTV's stock as well as a 27.26% equity investment from the media company's founders, Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy, for the price of Rs 342.65 per share. 
Since the transfer price is higher than the offer price, the company, in accordance with regulation 8(10) of the SEBI (SAST) regulation, will be making an additional payment of Rs 48.65 per equity share to the accepted public shareholders, as per the company filing made on Tuesday with stock exchanges.
