Adarsh Gourav  is bothered by the stereotypical portrayal of Indians in Hollywood films. “They are still mostly shown as scientists, doctors or engineers. Not to say that it’s not true,” he says, adding, “They are indeed stereotyped for a reason, because there are a lot of Indian doctors and Indian engineers. But then what are movies for?, he questions and goes on, “Movies are for your imagination. Through cinema, you imagine a character that may not exist in reality. That’s what makes it interesting. It’s like a dream.”

The clichéd portrayal of Indians in Hollywood movies annoys Adarsh Gourav. They continue to be portrayed mostly as scientists, physicians, or engineers. Not to deny its veracity, he continues, but they are stereotyped for a reason—there are many Indian doctors and engineers, for example. He continues, "Movies are for your imagination. But then what are movies for? You can create a character through film that might not actually exist. Because of that, it is intriguing. It seems to be a dream.

Adarsh was questioned about the audition procedure throughout the conversation. When asked about his thoughts on the episode, he admitted that his agents had secured this part for him. He was impressed by how well-written his character was after reading the script. He stated: "Even the slightest of his spoken or written words, or even his silence when a topic is being debated, reveal a great deal about his character. I consider that to be solid writing."

He went on to describe his initial thoughts after finishing the script. He stated: "I thought, Whoa! I wanted to be a part of the script since it was well-written." Adarsh portrays a driver in the television show. He admitted that the reason the producers viewed The White Tiger is why he was given an offer. He stated: "They thought I could do something like this. So yeah, I never actually auditioned for the role. They were kind enough to place their trust in me."

It had been a significant pivot for him, Gourav says. ''I feel my career has completely taken on a new course after the release. A lot more opportunities have come my way, a lot more filmmakers that I want to work with, writers who I resonate with, have become more accessible to me. And it’s been one of the biggest reasons why I’ve been able to do the kind of work that I have done in the last two years,” " he concludes.

In Zoya Akhtar's "Kho Gaye Hum Kahan," Adarsh Gaurav will next be seen with Ananya Pandey and Siddhant Chaturvedi. He also appears in the Netflix original comedy-thriller series Guns & Gulaabs. Raj & DK, famed for their work on The Family Man and Farzi, directed it.
