'Adhinayak' should be removed from the national anthem: Haryana minister Anil Vij

Haryana cabinet minister Anil Vij, on Saturday, said that the word ‘Adhinayak’ should be removed from the national anthem of India. He said the word means ‘dictator’ and India has a democratic form of government.

“It is okay to remove Sindh from the national anthem. But the word ‘Adhinayak’ should also be removed. Adhinayak means dictator and India does not have a dictator currently,” said the Haryana minister while talking to reporters in Ambala.

This comes a day after Congress MLA Ripun Bora moved a resolution in the Rajya Sabha demanding the removal of Sindh from the national anthem and replace it with north-east saying northeast is an essential and sensitive part of the country.

“There is no mention of the Northeast in the national anthem but has the mention of Sindh, which is now part of Pakistan. Why are we glorifying a place of a hostile nation? There is no point,” Ripun Bora had said.
He also said that Sindh is no longer a part of India and belongs to rival nation Pakistan presently, so why should it be a part of the national anthem
