Mumbai: On Friday, Aaditya Thackeray, a minister in the Maharashtra government, attacked Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray has threatened protests if loudspeakers are not removed from outside mosques by May 3. When media in Mumbai asked Thackeray about the distribution of free loudspeakers by BJP and MNS, he said, "It is okay. Instead of removing loudspeakers, one should use it to speak about rising inflation. One should use petrol, Let's talk about diesel, CNG prices and let's talk about what happened in the last 2-3 years without going back 60 years."

After the statement given by Raj Thackeray on the loudspeaker, the political temperature in the state has heated up in the last few days. Raj Thackeray has warned the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3, failing which MNS workers will put up speakers outside mosques and play Hanuman Chalisa.

The same Thackeray termed it as a social issue and said that he would not back down on this subject. MNS chief said, "Loudspeakers in mosques should be switched off by May 3 or else we will play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers. This is a social issue, not a religious one. I want to speak to the state government that we are not behind on this subject." Go away, do what you want to do."
