BANGALORE:Â Defence Minister Rajnath Singh compared Aero India 2025 to the Maha Kumbh Mela, saying it highlights India's strength and resilience in an uncertain world. The Aero India event started today, February 10, at the Yelahanka Air Force Base in Bangalore.
India’s Rising Defence Power
The Defence Minister praised India’s peaceful and stable environment and said the country is ready to become a major player in global defence exports. He also said that even as the world faces challenges, India remains a symbol of peace and progress.
The minister went on to say that Aero India is a platform to showcase India's technological growth and its increasing strength in the defence sector. The event aims to demonstrate India’s industrial power and build stronger relationships with other nations.
Boosting Defence Exports
The minister highlighted India’s goal to expand its defence exports, making India a top player in the global arms market. He said, Aero India brings together government officials, industry leaders, air force officers, scientists, and defence experts from around the world.
Aero India and Maha Kumbh: A Big Connection
Drawing a connection between Aero India and the Maha Kumbh Mela, Rajnath Singh said both events bring together people from different backgrounds. He said India's tradition of hospitality, welcoming global visitors to Aero India.
He also added Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, "Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi" (Development and Heritage Together), and said the theme of this year’s event, “The Runway to a Billion Opportunities,” reflects India’s ambitions for growth while preserving its rich culture.
Aero India 2025 is a symbol of India's rise in the global defence sector, demonstrating its technological leadership and commitment to international peace and security.
Defence Ministers' Conclave: Strengthening Global Defence Ties
The Defence Ministers' Conclave will also take place tomorrow, February 11, in a hybrid mode. It aims to strengthen defence cooperation with friendly nations as global security challenges continue to evolve. The conclave will serve as a major platform to discuss different topics such as defence investment, joint ventures, co-production, research & development, maritime security, and strategic partnerships etc.
