Team India defeated Afghanistan by 11 runs in a thrilling match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 on Saturday. Chasing a victory target of 224 runs set by India, Afghanistan were bundled out for 224 in 50 overs, though their batsmen could not achieve the target and were bowled out for 213 in 49.5 overs. India had to work hard to win against Afghanistan. Shami's hat-trick and Bumrah's brilliant bowling and Kohli-Jadhav's innings gave India a victory.

Shami's crucial Hatrick

Shami had a chance for the first time after not playing four matches in the World Cup 2019 and Shami was included in Team India's playing XI in the match after Bhuvneshwar Kumar's injury and he made a brilliant debut. Shami restricted opponents to  16 runs in the final over.  Mohammad Nabi struck the first ball and Shami pulled the next ball dot and Nabi caught the third ball of the over at the hands of Hardik Pandya on the men's on. On the next two balls, Shami completed his first hat-trick in the World Cup by taking wickets from Aftab Alam and Mujib Ur Rahman.

Bumrah's Brillance

The biggest turning point for Team India in this match was Jaspreet Bumrah's bowling. Bumrah prevented The Afghanistan batsmen from putting up accurate and dangerous yorkers on important occasions and that was the difference between the two teams. In the last two overs, Afghanistan needed 21 runs to win. But here too the magic of Bumrah got the job done. Bumrah threw the 49th over and gave up just five runs. While the Afghan team was given the lead in the final overs
There were 16 runs to make.
