New Delhi: A match series Test match is being played between Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Chittagong. The team captain in this match is leg-spinner Rashid Khan.  His name has been recorded as the youngest Test captain in the history of cricket. In the same year, Rashid was made the captain of all formats after the disappointing performance of the Afghan team in the World Cup in England.

The star spinner broke the 15-year-old record, which was named after Zimbabwe's Tatenda Taibu in 2004. Taibu led the team against Sri Lanka in Harare in 2004, when Taibu was 20 years old 358 days. Rashid broke his record by a difference of eight days. Rashid's age is 20 years and 350 days. The list of youngest Test captains includes Tiger Pataudi, Waqar Yunus, Grahame Smith and Shakib Al Hasan after Rashid and Taibu.

Pataudi of India had led Team India at the age of 21 years and 77 days. The same Yunus took Test captaincy at 22 years 15 days, Smith from South Africa 22 years 82 days and Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan at the age of 22 years 115 days. Rashid said that he is very excited.
