The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced that it will cut its coaching staff salaries by 25 per cent this month to meet the financial challenges during the Coronavirus epidemic crisis. According to the Cricinfo report, if the Zimbabwe tour of Afghanistan is canceled in June, the salary cut may increase by 50 per cent.

ACB Chief Executive Lutfullah Stanikzai said, 'This is part of our cost savings strategy as we are affected by the Kovid-19 crisis. We have decided to cut the salary of coaches by 25 per cent for May and if international cricket does not start, it could be 50 per cent in June. With this decision of ACB, head coach Lance Klusner, batting coach HD Ackerman and assistant coach Navroj Mangal will be affected, whose salary will be cut.

Stanikzai said he has lost revenue and it will have a more negative impact if the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November is not as per schedule. He said, 'We are not 100 percent convinced that there will be Asia Cup and the revenue we will get from there. If there is no T20 World Cup, then in the next year and beyond, we will be negatively affected. Afghanistan's next official event is the Asia Cup. But ACB and Zimbabwe Cricket have agreed to play five T20 matches in Zimbabwe, which is not part of the Future Tours Program (FTP).
