Kabul: The Taliban government in Afghanistan may soon be formally announced. In the meantime, women demonstrated against the low participation of women in the government and the right to work. Around 50 Afghan women were seen shouting slogans in protest with placards in their hands.

However, the Taliban, the terror group, has claimed that women will be able to continue their jobs under the new regime. Before 2001, in the old days, the Taliban showed violence and brutality in compliance with the sharia laws of Islam. During that time, women were banned from education and work. According to media reports, a protesting woman said she wanted the Taliban to give women a cabinet berth. She said, 'We want the Taliban to talk to us. We never saw women at their ceremonies and events.'

According to the journalist who witnessed the demonstrations, the protesters said, 'Education, work and security are our right. We're not afraid, we're one.' According to media reports, protesters took to the streets on Thursday after the Taliban failed to respond to women's right to work. A 24-year-old woman said she and other women have been asked not to return to the job. At the same time, when the women returned to offices in western Afghanistan's largest city, they were returned. The woman said a group of Herati women had sought a clarification from top Taliban officials on policies on women's rights, but they never received a clear answer.
