New Delhi: The rift between Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Congress is widening. Mamata is eyeing the opposition leadership, so she is leaving no stone unturned to isolate the Congress. Announcing that he will not contest in the states where there are regional parties, he has made it clear that the congress is the only target of the TMC. That is why the Congress also did not delay in responding.

In fact, Mamata Didi has met NCP Chief Sharad Pawar during her visit to Mumbai. He had earlier held a meeting with Aditya Thackeray and Sanjay Raut on Tuesday. After the meeting, his temper has become more tough on the Congress. Even inside Parliament, TMC is constantly trying to keep a distance from the Congress. Tensions between the two parties may escalate in the coming days. Mamata wants to isolate the Congress and bring together regional parties. Mamata Didi feels that if all regional parties come together, it will not be difficult to defeat the BJP. She is meeting leaders of regional parties under the same campaign. The Congress is also angry with Mamata Banerjee's campaign to unite regional parties just before the assembly elections in five states. She believes that elections to Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur are very important for 2024. If the Opposition succeeds in defeating the BJP in these elections, the path will be difficult for the BJP. But the attitude of the TMC may divide the opposition votes.

On the other hand, Congress National General Secretary KC Venugopal slammed Mamata's effort and said defeating the BJP without the Congress is only a dream. Party strategists believe that all parties have the right to increase their mass base. According to him, he has no objection if he contests elections TMC with other parties. But Mamata is increasing her dominance by breaking congress leaders on the lines of bjp. Mamata's meeting with Sharad Pawar is also related to this as NCP has been contesting in Goa.
