Patna: Police have recovered 146 kg of hemp being carried in a car's trunk in Rohtas, Bihar. The value of the seized hemp is said to be lakhs of rupees. It was also prepared to send hemp to Buxar via Gaya. However, the police caught him amidst checking of vehicles on the road. Let us know that after the prohibition in Bihar, hemp is being smuggled on a large scale.

The police had received secret information that preparations were being made to carry a huge quantity of hemp illegally in a car going towards Varanasi from Dihri's side. As soon as Rohtas SP Ashish Bharti came to know about it, he took it seriously and formed a special team of Darigaon SHO, and other policemen, to nab the smugglers and also ordered a search by stopping the suspicious vehicle near the Maharanian plant. The special team formed by the SP has also started checking vehicles near the Maharanian plant. Meanwhile, when a suspicious car coming from Dihri's side was ordered to stop, the driver of the car tried to run away quickly, after which the police team caught him.

When the car was searched, 40 large bundles of hemp and 05 small bundles were also recovered from under the dickey and the seat. When the weight of these bundles was weighed, it was found that a total of 146 kg of hemp was being smuggled. The police have also seized the Baleno car. Now the police are claiming that they have soon identified and detained the hemp smugglers and according to reports, Rohtas police are continuously conducting a drive to nab those involved in smuggling hemp, drugs,  liquor and other illegal drugs.
