New Delhi: Covid case has been witnessing a decline in new cases across the country in the past few days, but death figures have risen sharply. The Central Government has said that increasing testing has benefited and two and a half times the testing has been increased in 14 weeks. This has led to detection of infections and help in controlling them, but there is something else to worry about, as the death toll is not going down.

It has been revealed that the death rate of youth is double this time as compared to the previous wave. The data is based on a study conducted at 7-8 hospitals in Delhi NCR and is very alarming. We are losing young people in the Corona virus.

On 10th May, the infection of covid in India was 3 lakh 88 thousand 58, which came down to 3 lakh 19 thousand 437 on 17th May after a week. The number of corona virus deaths on May 10 was 3,948, which rose to 4,100 three after a week. The death toll has crossed 4500 on May 19. So what does the falling chart of covid infection and the X factor formed by the increasing streak of deaths say?

The covid menace in the country seems to be coming to a halt as treatment arrangements are slowly improving. There was not much shortage of beds and oxygen. Arrangements for life saving drugs have been improved. The benefits of lockdown and curfew are being seen. But even in these circumstances, the number of hospital deaths is not going down and on an average, 4,000 people are still losing their lives every day in India.

Experts say that the number of people vaccinated among the youth is very low. Secondly, the mutant virus is proving to be more dangerous for the youth and the large number of youth leaving the house is also considered to be one of the major reasons behind their virus. However, data assessors are expecting a reduction in the number of deaths in the country in the coming weeks.
