Guwahati: After Bihar and Assam, Meghalaya in the northeast is facing floods. In the West Garo Hills district, about 1 lakh people have been affected by the floods. 5 people have died so far. Home Minister Amit Shah held talks with Meghalaya Chief Minister Konrad Sangma over floods. He has also promised to get all possible help from the Center. Amit Shah tweeted, "Life and property suffered due to floods in West Garo Hills. I have spoken to CM Konrad Sangma and assured him of all possible help from the Center".
175 villages are struggling due to floods here. 1.70 lakh people in the state are struggling with this disaster. 22 relief camps are also being set up. Not only this, but the effect of the loss of agricultural land in the flood has also been directly seen to see the livelihood of the people. Government statistics show that more than 75% of the state's population has been vaccinated on farming or farming.
84 people have lost their lives due to floods and landslides in Assam. Only water is visible everywhere. 30 of the 33 districts of the state are flooded. Apart from this, 70 lakh people have been affected in the state. Around 4700 villages of the state also became flood victims.
Around 8 lakh animals have also been affected in the state. Kaziranga, the largest national park in the state, is also flooded. This is causing a lot of trouble for the animals. So far 108 animals have died in the park.
