The last episode of Ramanand Sagar's serial 'Uttar Ramayana' will be telecasted today (Saturday) night. It is an interesting coincidence that today is also the birth anniversary of Mother Sita i.e. Sita Navami and according to the story of Ramayana, the termination of the North Ramayana ends after Sita's inclusion in the earth. Its original telecast ran for 44 weeks (every Sunday) in 1988–89. It was planned to be aired again in 2020 by 10 May (22 days). But it was scrapped in 14 days by increasing the time of broadcast every day. The last three days of the serial were shown two hours every day. The re-airing of 'Uttar Ramayana' gained more popularity than 'Ramayana'. That is the reason why it also became the most watched show worldwide in a single day. The viewership of this serial on April 16 was 77 million or more than 7.7 crore. Giving information, Doordarshan wrote in his tweet, "The world record, the re-telecast of the Ramayana on Doordarshan has broken the viewership records worldwide.
