Amritsar: Former Punjab Congress unit president Navjot Singh Sidhu has been sentenced to one year in jail by the Supreme Court in the 1988 road rage case. After this, cricketer turned commentator and politician Navjot Singh Sidhu will now work as a clerk in Patiala Central Jail. In fact, for the safety of Sidhu, it has been decided that Sidhu will look after the clerical work of the jail office in Patiala Jail.

Please tell that the jail office will be functioning near Sidhu in Patiala Jail. It is noteworthy that Sidhu has been jailed for one year in the 34-year-old road rage case. At the same time, the security of Sidhu inside the jail is also a challenge for the jail administration. In such a situation, the administration has entrusted the clerical responsibility without giving any other work to Sidhu. It is a matter of relief for 58-year-old Sidhu that he will not have to work in the factory. Regarding this, Patiala Jail Superintendent Manjit Singh Tiwana has said that Sidhu is educated and at the same time no risk can be taken regarding his safety in jail. In such a situation, it has been decided that Sidhu will have to work as a clerk during the entire sentence.

Let us inform that Sidhu surrendered in Patiala court on May 20 after the Supreme Court sentenced him. Since then he is imprisoned in Barrack No 10 of Patiala Jail. After the work given to Sidhu, he will now send files to the jail office every day. His duty will be from 9 am to 5 pm. During this time he can work on the files at any time. Sidhu will not be given any salary in return for this work. Actually Sidhu has no experience of clerical work. Now he is in the category of unskilled worker.
