Beijing [China], December 29 (NT): Roads with solar panels is no bombshell but constructing a road allocated with the existence of built-in wireless charging systems for electric vehicles and other sensors for drones is amazing next level and looks like China has successfully attained that achievement.

As per Xinhua, China has successfully tested its first photovoltaic highway which is based on home-grown equipment, in the nation's eastern Shandong region on Thursday.

The road is built using solar panels which have a thin sheet of clear concrete on top of them, shielding the surface.

The panels are constructed to transfer energy to electric vehicles passing on top of them for which the 1-kilometer segment of solar-powered highway coats a surface area of 5,875 square meters (about 63,238 square feet).here The special section has three layers in whichThe bottom is an insulator to put a stop to moisture from getting to the photovoltaic devices in the middle layer, and the top is protective which is made from transparent concrete.

The tested segment of highway can produce 817.2 kilowatts of power and is likely to generate 1 million kilowatt hours of electricity each year.

The electricity generated in the course of this will be linked to China's national power grid.

China becomes the second nation to build a photovoltaic highway. France is the foremost nation to launch the world's first photovoltaic road fitted with solar panels in late 2016. (NT)
