After France, this country detects cases of COVID-19 variant first found in India

Spain’s health minister confirmed that the European country has detected new strain of the coronavirus. The strain was first identified in India.

Minister Carolina Darias in recent days the cases were two separate outbreaks discovered by health officials. Earlier, France had confirmed three cases of Indian COVID variants in the country. She added a plane carrying medical supplies, including oxygen and breathing machines will land soon in India. Last week, Spain’s government approved a shipment of seven tons of medical supplies to help India combat the surging wave of COVID-19 infections.

India has recorded over 410000 fresh Covid-19 cases for the second consecutive day which means country now has 3.65 million active cases. While world corona update reports coronavirus cases rise unabated across the globe with 156672849 infected by the deadly contagion. While 134855280 have recovered, 3269034 have died so far. The US remains the worst-hit country with 33367812, followed by India, Brazil, France and Turkey. However, in the past seven days, India has added the highest number of fresh cases at 2702756, followed by the Brazil with 412657 and US with 335620.
