Kashi: Amidst the ongoing legal battle over the disputed Gyanvapi complex, a dispute has started regarding another mosque in Kashi, the city of Baba Vishwanath. Now the matter of Dharhara Masjid located at Panchganga Ghat also reached the local court. A case has been filed in the court of Civil Judge (Junior Division) Akash Verma on Tuesday to ban Namaz and give right to worship and worship in the mosque built at this place, popularly known as Bindu Madhav Mandir.

This suit has been filed on behalf of 5 people including Atul Kul, a resident of Gaighat. Making Sadiq Ali, Jamal and Munna as the defendants in the case, the plaintiffs have prayed to the court that the entry of the defendants should be prohibited in the Dharhara mosque during the case. Recording this application as a miscellaneous suit, the court has fixed July 4 for hearing. Advocate Rajendra Prasad has said in the suit filed on behalf of Atul Kul Adi that for several thousand years the ancient Bindu Madhav Temple located at Panchganga Ghat is also known as Madhavrao's Dharahara Masjid. The temple of Lord Vishnu was established here. In it, Hindus used to perform worship, darshan and aarti.

It is believed that this mosque was built in the 17th century. The petitioners claim that this mosque was built by demolishing the Bindu Madhav temple. Citing a book named Varanasi Gazetteer, the petitioners have claimed that the Bindu Madhav temple of Lord Vishnu existed above the Panchganga Ghat. The temple was demolished by Aurangzeb and a mosque was built there.
