After Jammu so many cases surfaced of corona increased in Ladakh

As the cases of Covid-19 infection increase, the Centre has also asked Ladakh after Jammu and Kashmir to take special precautions and effective steps to prevent infection. Earlier, the Centre had alerted Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh to prevent Covid-19. Now, central has told the Ladakh and Puducherry administrations that the increase in covid cases has to be controlled. Leh district of Ladakh has been specifically identified for the increase in the infection rate.

In a letter to the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health, Additional Secretary, Union Health Ministry, Arti Ahuja has said that new cases have increased by 36.2 per cent at the weekly level in the Union Territory. She has expressed concern that there were a total of 34 cases in Ladakh till the end of October, which has increased to 157 by 17th November.

Similarly, the positivity rate in sample testing has also increased from 1.5 per cent to 3.9 per cent. The situation in Leh is even worse. Here, the new cases of a week are 36.2 percent higher than before. The positivity rate is also the highest in the state at 4.81 percent, which has to be brought under control.
