Dehradun: The danger of Joshimath city of Uttarakhand has reached the Badrinath Highway. Chamoli Collector Himanshu Khurana said that reports of cracks have been seen on the Badrinath Highway. Regarding this, a team of experts was sent to the spot. The team has investigated and reported the cracks. Earlier on Monday, Disaster Management Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha had reported about the relief work being done in Joshimath.

As per reports, Chamoli Collector Himanshu Khurana said that a team from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI) was sent to the spot for inspection. He told that on inspection the team told that cracks have been seen here. The Collector informed that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain/snowfall on 24 and 25 January. In view of this, nodal officers have been instructed to provide blankets, heaters, and generators in the relief camps.

At the same time, the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Border Roads Organization (BRO) have been asked to be on alert and remove obstructions caused by snowfall. Actually, in view of the threat of Joshimath, the local people have been shifted to safer places. Because landslides had caused cracks in many houses, hotels, and other public establishments. PM Narendra Modi had expressed concern over the situation in Joshimath and after a telephonic discussion with CM Pushkar Singh Dhami assured all possible help to the state administration for relief and rescue. While Disaster Management Secretary Dr. Ranjit Kumar Sinha informed that an amount of Rs 3.45 crore has been distributed as interim relief to 261 affected families in Joshimath. Also said that the construction work of One BHK, Two BHK, and Three BHK model prototype prefabricated shelter has started by Central Building Research Institute Roorkee near Joshimath.
