After Liquor-DTC, Now Kejriwal govt trapped in Toilet scam

New Delhi: The Congress has accused Manish Sisodia, the Deputy CM of the national capital, of a 'toilet scam'. Delhi Congress unit leaders on Tuesday (September 20, 2022) met Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena in this regard and demanded a probe into the contract in public toilets. He alleged that the Delhi government was planning to hand over the management of public toilets in the city to a banned company instead of NGOs.

According to media reports, a delegation of party leaders led by Delhi Congress unit president Anil Kumar submitted a memorandum to LG Saxena. In this, he has demanded an inquiry into the contract for installing western toilet seats in public toilets, claiming corruption in the scheme of the Delhi government. Anil Kumar accused Sisodia and questioned that the company which he himself (Delhi government) has banned, why is it being tendered now?

Kumar said 'On August 18, a decision was taken to give a tender to a Debard company for the construction of 18620 toilets in 559 public facility complexes. The Delhi government switched from the traditional e-procurement website to the GeM portal for issuing tenders and offered the contract directly to a restricted company. Hitting out at the Delhi government, Kumar further alleged that Sisodia himself had banned the company for two years in 2021 for its poor performance. At the same time, the High Court has also not given any clean chit to that company for its poor record.

According to the Delhi Congress, in the order dated June 8, when the tender conditions of the GeM portal stated that a company with a track record of poor performance cannot participate in the tender bid, how was that company allowed to participate in the tender bid? Let us tell you that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Delhi led by CM Arvind Kejriwal has also been caught in the liquor and bus scam earlier. A person explained in detail which people tried to benefit from the excise policy of the Delhi government and how it was done. He told that AAP leaders have benefited several hundred crores in this and all those who have benefited have given money to Arvind Kejriwal. At the same time, in the past, the LG of Delhi VK Saxena, the investigation of the scam related to the bus purchase case by the Kejriwal government was handed over to the CBI.

Let us tell you that Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain is imprisoned in the corruption case for the last 4 months and he is not even getting bail. During the interrogation of ED, Jain said that he has lost his memory and does not remember anything. Apart from this, including Amanatullah Khan, about 9 leaders of AAP are currently in jail. Amanatullah Khan is also in jail in the corruption case, he was first sent to jail for 4 days, after which the court extended his custody for 5 days. On the other hand, Kejriwal himself is praising his leaders fiercely but is unable to give any concrete evidence in their defence. This is also one of the reasons, which is questioning the integrity of the Aam Aadmi Party and the intention of Arvind Kejriwal. Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal should prove his leaders innocent in court and give a befitting reply to the opposition.
