Chandigarh: Captain Amarinder Singh had written to Interim Congress President Sonia Gandhi before resigning as Punjab chief minister. He wrote in the letter that his government did a lot of work for the Annadatas and took over the border edifice without compromise. Former CM Amarinder Singh wrote to Sonia Gandhi in a letter that it is expected that the decision will bring peace in Punjab. ''I hope my efforts will continue. Strict action was taken in the case of cruelty from religious texts.''

He handled the internal security of Punjab. Peace and communal harmony prevailed in the state. There was no bias against anyone in Punjab. The BJP has attacked Congress over the resignation of Captain Amarinder Singh. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said Amarinder Singh had become more popular than Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi and hence he was removed.

BJP MP Prakash Javadekar said Amarinder Singh has levelled very serious allegations against Navjot Singh Sidhu. Referring to Sidhu going to Pakistan and hugging Bajwa, he has called Sidhu a traitor. This has been already the issue and Amarinder has articulated it yesterday. Our question is, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, why are you silent? Will the Congress party take any action? Moreover, Navjot Singh Sidhu's advisor Mohammad Mustafa said that Amarinder Singh's target is Rahul and Priyanka and not Sidhu. ''I will not allow Amarinder Singh. I will bring his entire book.''
